Search Your Feelings. You KNOW it to be True.

The Empire was right. Admit it.: http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/decline-and-fall-empire_1049518.html?nopager=1

If only the messengers of the Sith had not succumbed to the darkness of their natures. If only they had been more like Revan, who recognized the need for the Dark Side to defeat the Mandalorian Threat. Who, along with his General, realized that the truth was not all on the side of the Jedi. Who sat and watched as the Galaxy burned. Who felt nothing, denied their just impulses and remained silent as threats gathered beyond the fringes of the Republic that they had no interest in facing.

The Jedi did not fall because they were destroyed by the Sith. They fell because they refused to stand when the galaxy needed them. Nobility of heart means nothing without the intent to act. And the Jedi code saps all willingness to resist. In an ideological war, one cannot replace passion with indolence.

Or, one could simply argue that Lucas made the Jedi of Yoda’s era into complete idiots, duped into believing their own wisdom instead of facing the threats arrayed against them. They failed because Lucas decreed they should fail, and he no longer truly respected what he had built in the original movies.

But the first argument is at least fun for its counter-narrative impact. Because everyone else is linking it too. 😉

The Clear-Channeling of Radio

Has resulted in this: http://flashbak.com/40-songs-ruined-by-american-classic-rock-radio-28179/

I have to admit, that list makes me glad for Pandora and Spotify. I can agree with most songs on there, and probably add a few more. Even a diehard Rush-geek like myself can say there are a few dozen songs from the Master Power Trio I would want to hear more often to bring “Tom Sawyer” into a moderation allowing all people to appreciate its magnificence. Ditto “Back in Black,” really why not “Flick of the Switch” or “Ride On”?

Variety? Spice of Life? Not on Classic Rock Radio stations.

And the Entire First Half of This Season’s ARROW

We were trying to figure out what purpose the Hong Kong flashbacks had.

Huh. Guess we found out with a WHAM tonight. Midnight on the Fire Line-esque indeed. Well played.

Now if the writers on Castle could figure out what THEY are doing by destroying the chemistry they spent 6 years building in Caskett. Because the last couple episodes have been…tepid. Actually, this whole season has lacked. Probably because the ‘cliffhanger’ they were left with was ill-conceived.

Oh, and in my writing. Not satisfied in killing off characters, as I did last night. Tonight I offed a member of my world’s pantheon.

BIG fall.

Cease Fire Proposal

I cannot disagree with this article more strongly. History shows that when one refuses to engage an enemy, the enemy takes what you have given up. Every ground. Every front. We do not POSSESS the ground to surrender any longer. The Media belongs to the Left in total. The average consumer does not KNOW there is an alternative to the SJW position unless we present it. And the idea that the SJW’s are ‘winning’ on #Gamersgate is laughable.

We don’t need to ‘scream.’ But the idea that just one or two places to reply for all of us is stating that the rest of us don’t have a voice. We don’t have our own minds. That is the kind of pernicious groupthink I associate with the Left. Not with those who believe in Liberty and autonomy.

As for ‘driving traffic’ to them, I don’t buy that because again–they control the voices that will be heard by the Mainstream if we do not cry out. If we don’t talk about the stupidity of a woman being allowed to trade horizontal favors for positive reviews, then Sarkeesian’s slander becomes fact. If we don’t propose and act on alternate agendas, then the only agenda is the Lefts. Sure, be sneaky. But don’t JUST be sneaky. You have to have ground to win it. And we’ve lost far too many hills already to offer up more.

I do not like the idea of going from “We are all #Brietbart,” to “let them have the megaphone.”

This is a guest post by Sanford Begley, longtime MGC commentator and Not-a-writer. As a bystander who has been dragged into the inner workings, he’s got a very different perspective.

Hi folks! Amanda is a bit busy this week so I’m pinch hitting for her. No, nothing is wrong she just knew she would be too busy to give you the loving attention you deserve.

I’m going to do something short and a little less caustic than my normal mode. I am going to call for a ceasefire in the war between the SJWs and the right leaning writers. Actually I’m calling for a unilateral ceasefire. BTW for anyone who hasn’t caught up to the acronyms SJW stands for Social Justice Warrior. Well, at least they have been using that to describe themselves. Lately they are starting to see that it is becoming a term of derision and are trying…

OK. Who Thought of THIS Theory?

Really. It wasn’t someone who followed the comics, or any other zombie series. It must be someone whose idea of quality Sci-fi on TV was the last seasons of Lost. After it had lost all narrative cohesion and ran amok in its own mythology.

So apparently *fans* have suggested all of The Walking Dead takes place in Rick’s coma-suffering head. Fortunately, this was shot down by Kirkman here: https://tv.yahoo.com/news/walking-dead-creator-lays-rest-coma-fan-theory-000100877.html. To be fair to Lost, even IT did not go to that lame depth. That’s something only Dallas could do and keep its fans.

So now those who decided TWD was going into night-time soap opera territory can lay this to rest. It really *is* a Zombie Apocalypse.
